About Bruce Paul

BRUCE PAUL studied creative writing at Ohio University. After graduating with honors in 1967, he traveled to San Francisco and lived in the Haight/Ashbury district. Bruce has been a singer-songwriter in a folk-rock band, an elementary school teacher in the Virgin Islands, a taxi driver in Denver, a social worker in a maximum-security prison, an investment advisor, a real estate developer, and a riverboat bartender. Bruce is the author of many songs and The Artama Legend series of books. He now lives (and writes) among the ponderosa pines in the mountains of central Arizona.

Best Short Stories, an anthology of Arizona writers, has been published, and I am pleased to write that a memoir of mine was included. “The River of Life” is a true, humorous account of my ill-fated, white-water introduction to kayaking.

"Best Short Stories by AZ Writers is an impressive collection of stories written by an eclectic group of Arizona writers. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and—more importantly—you’ll enjoy the book."—New York Times Best Selling Author Mike Rothmiller

I am also pleased to write that the lyrics of three of my songs have been included in the recently published Best Poetry (A collection by AZ Writers). These are lyrics from the days when I had a band.

“Best Poetry by AZ Writers is a perfect description of what you will find inside of this book. In this collection of poems, there are more than 50 well-crafted poems created by 27 established Poets.”—Amazon
